The Anti-Freeze Valve is an essential component of heating and cooling systems equipped with heat pumps, providing effective protection against freezing of both the pipes and the medium within the pump itself. It ensures the system’s safety even in the harshest winter conditions. When the medium’s temperature drops to +3°C, the valve automatically opens, allowing controlled fluid outflow. This process begins with the warm circulation inside the building, preventing freezing of pipes and system components. If low temperatures persist and the automatic filling group is turned off, the internal pressure drops to zero. In such a situation, the vacuum breaker valve opens, allowing air to enter and continuing the fluid discharge. This advanced mechanism ensures reliable year-round protection of the heating and cooling system, eliminating the risk of freeze-related failures.

Anti-Freeze Valve 1” BRV – Installation Instructions
The Anti-Freeze Valve is a key element in protecting piping systems and heat pumps from the effects of low temperatures. It is best installed outside the building, at the lowest point of the system, near the heat pump. For optimal operation of the Anti-Freeze Valve, we recommend the following steps:
- Drainage Channel: Prepare a small channel to allow free outflow of discharged fluid.
- Protective Cover: Install a cover to shield the valve from snow and direct sunlight during summer. Avoid using insulation that could negatively affect the valve’s functionality.
- Additional Valves: Install two additional shut-off valves to enhance control over the medium flow.
For safety, the valve should be mounted at least 15 cm above the ground to prevent ice formation where water might drip. For full system protection, it is recommended to install two Anti-Freeze Valves: one on the supply line and another on the return line. This setup ensures that every part of the system is protected against freezing. Maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm between the two valves.
